For the Cake

  • 1 package devil’s food cake mix 15.25 oz
  • 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix 3.4 oz
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

For the Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream or milk optional, for consistency

Instructions
 

Prepare the cake

    Step 1

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan to ensure the cake doesn’t stick.

    Step 2

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the devil’s food cake mix, chocolate pudding mix, eggs, sour cream, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until the batter is smooth and well-combined.

    Step 3

    Step 4

    • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared bundt pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

    Step 5

      Step 1
